LYRICS:
Give in to the pressure of the sound
Of the voices saying step down
Beast of glutton, the embodiment of greed
Exploiting the weak by fabricating their needs
The wolf kicked in the door, intruded in your home
And you see it as a privilege to be consumed

Give in to the pressure of the sound
Of the voices saying step down
Tell us something that resembles truth
You pitiful bastard in clearest sight

The wolf was never hiding
You told yourself sweet nothings, and now your only truth is lying
Bulbous parasite; expanding from the blood of the ignorant
The worm is robbing our ability to communicate
I saw him laugh in your face
Why aren’t you irate
Scrub away the stain; leech their energy

Give in to the pressure of the sound
Of the voices saying step down
Tell us something that resembles truth
You pitiful bastard in clearest sight

The people’s king; a virtuoso of trophy lust and adolescent behavior
An old fool convinced you he’s your savior
Chaos is the grain on which the bastards feed
Bringing down the rain, they drown the land in greed
Scrub away the stain; leech their energy
Tell us something that resembles truth
Just walk away

  1. A certain other band on Sumerian's roster should take note. This is how you tastefully tackle politics without coming off as a bunch of pandering crybabies. Fantastic work as always Erra.

  2. I fucking miss the OG ERRA. Andromeda, Impulse and Augement always brought me chills still to this day. Back when we had Garisson Lee and his incredible vocals and Alan Rigdon who brought those melodic ambient guitar parts, accompanied by Jesse's vocals…ERRA stood out from the rest. I saw ERRA play live in Toronto on the Dance Gavin Dance tour on June 11th, Jesse was amazing live, but I couldn't stand JT's vocals it's too monotonous sounding and I felt like he ruined their set. I don't think anyone can replace Garrison. Also it still amazes that they replaced Alan Rigdon with some bald head fuck who thinks he's really good at guitar with his fancy Kemper on stage, I'm pretty sure Sean doesn't right any riffs and Jesse is the main song writer. Didn't really expect a new song from Erra, but all I can say is WTF happened to Brian Hood and his killer mixes? Just had to get this off my chest, in the meantime I'm going to go listen to to Invent Animate's new instrumental album religiously.

  3. Yikes. Am I the only one who thinks this is very generic? Idk, bash me all you want but this band has gone down the toilet since the Augment and Impulse days. Even the production sounds trashy.

  4. I really dig. Hoping the album lives up this. Seems like they are going back to the days of headbangers (not that there was anything wrong with Drift at all).

I don't LOVE the mix, but don't mind me I'm just nitpicking. This band is absolutely legendary.
